Ashland is the home of the Ohio
Explorer. We feel a desire to promote this area not only because of this fact, but
also because Ashland is a beautiful place to be, nestled within the hills of Mohican
Country. It is peaceful and friendly, and also offers much to do
entertainment-wise.
Ashland has it's street side-walk sale, many churches and organizations holding suppers
and craft shows, and special unique places to shop. There is Ashland Shopping
Center, the downtown area, and Grandpa's Village. There are places like The
Parsley Pot, The Gleaners Antique Shop, Watermelon Barn, the Art Depot, and The Olde
Parsonage, to name a few. Restaurants include Grumpy's, Grumbellies, Lynway, Kelly's
Deli, the Accent Room and Peking. But they aren't the only ones!
Mohican National Forest, Charles Mill Lake and Dam, Amish Country, and the Everything
Rubbermaid Store are also within driving distance of Ashland.
Throughout the year Ashland also has the popular Balloonfest, Ashland County Fair, and
nearby the Indian Pow-Wow and the Prairie Peddler.
The city is home of Landoll Inc, who prints different kinds of reading and coloring books
for stores and even for Disney. Archway Bakery is here...famous for those delicious
Archway Cookies! National Latex is popular for the balloons that make people of all
ages smile. Not too far away is Merrilat, makers of kitchen cabinets, and
Rubbermaid, where you can stock up on many kinds of rubber items.
Not far away in Amish Country are shops where they make cheese, noodles, pastries, candy,
wooden furniture, quilts...and the list goes on!
Ashland, Ohio...someplace special, where there's always something to do, something to
explore, and friendly people to put sunshine into your day! Come visit...and find
out for yourself!
